Overview

Kadai is an outdoor cooking and lifestyle brand with a strong physical retail presence and a growing ecommerce channel.

When I became involved, online sales were not being intentionally driven through paid digital advertising. Google Ads hadn’t been fully owned as a growth channel, and there was limited clarity around how paid spend could contribute to sustainable online revenue.

The objective wasn’t aggressive scaling for its own sake, but to introduce a clear, considered approach to digital advertising that could support long-term growth.

02

My Approach

My role was to bring structure and ownership to Kadai’s digital advertising, with a primary focus on Google Ads.

Rather than treating paid media as a small test, I proposed a meaningful budget that would allow the channel to perform properly and generate reliable insight. The focus was on intent-led campaigns, clear measurement, and understanding which areas of the business were genuinely driving online sales.

Decisions around spend, optimisation, and iteration were made deliberately, with an emphasis on consistency and learning over time rather than short-term spikes. This allowed digital advertising to become a predictable and understandable part of the business, rather than a source of uncertainty.

03

Outcome & Impact

As a result of this approach, Kadai saw a significant improvement in online performance.

Year on year web sales increased by 80%, with Google Ads becoming a consistent contributor to overall ecommerce revenue.

Beyond performance alone, the business gained clarity around how digital advertising fit into wider growth decisions. Spend became intentional, results were measurable, and future investment could be evaluated calmly and realistically.

Frequently asked questions

Who do you work best with?
icon

I work best with founders of product-led brands who already have something real and want to grow it without chaos, guesswork, or noise. Typically, that’s people who: are already trading care about doing things properly want clarity more than hype value honest conversations over sales tactics If you’re looking for someone to “just run ads” with no thought behind it, I’m probably not the right fit, and that’s okay.

What do you actually help with?
icon

I help bring clarity to digital growth decisions. That often involves paid advertising strategy, performance oversight, and improving how traffic converts once it lands. More than anything, it’s about understanding what actually matters, cutting through noise, and making decisions that feel intentional rather than reactive.

Do you run ads yourself, or do you just advise?
icon

It depends on what makes the most sense. Some clients want me hands on with strategy and execution. Others want a steady external perspective to guide decisions, pressure test ideas, and keep things grounded. We decide that together based on what will genuinely move things forward.

What’s it like working with you?
icon

It’s calm, direct, and honest. I don’t overpromise and I don’t use pressure. I’ll tell you what I think, even if it’s not what you expected to hear, because that’s usually where the real value is. The aim is steady progress, not constant urgency.

How do you charge?
icon

Most work is retainer based, because growth works better as an ongoing partnership than as a one off project. I’m upfront about pricing, expectations, and boundaries from the start. If it doesn’t feel like a good fit on either side, we don’t force it.

Do you work with early-stage businesses?
icon

Sometimes. What matters more to me than stage is mindset. I’m less interested in big promises and more interested in clear thinking, realistic expectations, and a willingness to build things properly over time.

How do we get started?
icon

We start with a conversation. There’s no pitch and no pressure. It’s simply a call to see whether I can genuinely help, whether the way I think and work feels aligned to you, and whether it makes sense for both of us to move forward.

What if I’m not sure yet?
icon

That’s completely fine. Most people don’t come in feeling certain. They come in with questions and a sense that something could be clearer. Clarity isn’t something you need before we speak, it’s often what comes out of the conversation itself.
